Name: Bofrot, Boflot, Togbei Eaten in: Ghana Foodie: Linda Is there a country/culture in the world that doesn’t have its version of fried dough? Ghana certainly does. The bofrot, bofloto are ubiquitous street snacks in that country. I like the doughy, chewy version with a slight tinge of nutmeg.
Creole pineapple beignets, beer batter anyone?
Name: Creole Pineapple Beignets Eaten in: French Caribbean Foodie: Linda Beer, rum, pineapple, batter all thrown together in hot oil and then smother in powdered and confectioners sugar. They are crispy outside, soft inside, and like my friend says “the pineapple pieces are just like a surprise!”
