Talier: Makes great fufu!

The talier is  part of the traditional West-African cookware. It is used to make foufou and to grind tomatoes, onions or peppers into a paste.  It is made of two parts, the bowl made out of wood or stone and a matching pestle, which usually has an hourglass shape.

Tostoneras are fun to use and a great tool to flatten reluctant plantains. They are used to make banan pese, tostones, patacons. I think they are a great tool for relaxation as well. I have squashed many negative feelings using my tostonera and the best part is that, liberated, I then get to feast on a delicious meal.
