Vietnamese coffee, sweet and warm goodness

Vietnamese coffee final_v2
Name: Ca Phe Sua Nong (Vietnamese coffee, hot)
Enjoyed in: Vietnam

I admit it! I really wanted Vietnamese coffee, but I don’t own a Vietnamese coffee filter (http://wanderingchopsticks.blogspot.com/2007/03/ca-phe-sua-da-ca-phe-sua-nong.html), so I used my French press instead. The key was to brew some really strong coffee so that the sweet condensed milk would complement the flavor instead of completely diluting it. It did the trick, I had my coffee and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

  • 2-4 tablespoons sweet condensed milk

Directions

1. Pour the condensed milk in your coffee mug. Add the hot coffee. Mix. Voila! Your Ca phe sua nong is ready.

I think Vietnamese coffee works fine with the French Press and I get similar taste.

I have both a small Vietnamese Phin filter and a large French press at home and use them both, depending on the amount I want to make.
