Irresistible chocolate cake

We will not say it enough, chocolate is the quintessential tropical food. Cocoa only grows within a limited distance from the equator and then manages to spread joy and happiness all around the globe in variously sweet ways.

This is one my favorite chocolate cake recipes. The crust is light and flaky and the inside soft, moist and intensely..chocolate

Moelleux au chocolat (Fudgey chocolate cake)

Cook time 30 minutes
Total time 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 9 tablespoons butter
  • 1 chocolate bar ((about 8oz))
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C, gas mark 6)


2. Melt chocolate in a saucepan with a little bit of water

3. Remove from heat, add butter, flour and baking powder

4. Prepare a foam with the egg yolks, the sugar and a little water added to the chocolate mixture

5. Beat the egg whites, and incorporate them into the pan gently

6. Pour into a buttered pan with high edges, and bake for about 35 min

7. Add powdered sugar or melted chocolate to decorate the cake
